SHOOT PLANNING
While deciding our location options for the shoot as a group we researched through a number of different local business's in Sheffield and looked at which places really represent what the north and Sheffield is about as well as seeing how we can incorporate the Northern Soul theme into the locations aesthetics too. We looked possibly using Napoleons Casino ,Gentings casino , local pubs until we came across Sheffield works department sports and social club which showcased a dated pub interior which fitted in perfectly with the kind of spaces Northern soul parties were held in back in that time.

The next step in hiring the pub for the day was proven quiet difficult because every time I rang to try and book the pub the manager wasn't in or they weren't answering the phone therefore I found a back up pub from my flatmate who is a supervisor there in a pub in rotherham. Eventually after about 5 days of trying I managed to book the pub out for the whole day at a flat cost of £50 which worked out as £16.60 each.
After securing the pub for the whole day on the 9th of April we then went on to book out our camera to both shoot our video and photos on ( we took out a Nikon D3300 ). As well as the camera Alice also brought her ring light to try and achieve a shots with more exposure. The next key step to the shoot was the clothing we all raided our wardrobes and I managed to grab some amazing pieces from my dad and my boyfriend featuring clothes from brands like Gabicci , Farah and Fred Perry. We all decided to bring as much of our makeup and hair products as we could to see what we would need on the day. I brought all of my stuff in a suitcase to make mobility easier and we also got very lucky with being able to use Alices mums car which enabled us to pick up and drop off our models and be able to fetch for and drink supplies for us all when needed.
